Team 1 Keegan snuck past Team 5 Howarth with wins for Jesse Keegan, Lindsay Mahlo, Kynan Baker, Jarrod Collett, Albert Cavalli, Sonya Fitzgerald and Robert Ryan while Tim Howarth showed his temperament has improved by beating Ben Reid in five close games.
Team 4 Baker beat Team 2 Atkinson with wins for Glen Atkinson, Scott Baker, Pat Clarkstone, Rhonda Cavalli, Katie Hailes, Mike Mayhew and another win for the prince of the centre Lyle Davis, while Charlie Locke and Rod Bevan played out an epic which was a contrast of styles – Rod with his precision like shots and Charlie running more than the six million dollar man.
Fitness was the difference in the end with Charlie winning in five.
The first draw was played out with Team 3 Brearley and Team 6 Garlick sharing the spoils with wins for a resurgent Matt Garlick, Peter Brearley, Pat Clarkstone, Kym Knight, Brett Mahlo, Robyn Chapman and the tight shirt wearer Grant Michell while Matt Wilson started the season on a high winning in three
