Daybreak’s Bob Derrick said the project was close to the club’s heart as was providing shelter to Orange’s homeless, which was where the additional $1000 would go. The former club president said the club had a successful 12 months and will use its good fortune to give back.
“Where there’s a need Rotary respond,” he said.
Mr Derrick said Orange Daybreak donated $20,000 to Western Care Lodge from 2017-2018 and $2000 to a disadvantaged children’s project for the Smith family, among other causes.
The donation comes the same week the state government announced a grant of $684,000 for the $3.1 million project.
