The ODJCA – the reigning Cricket Australia association of the year – introduced the grant last year and it’s designed to increase junior participation opportunities in primary schools, with last year’s funds used primarily to upgrade pitches, nets and facilities and purchase team kit.
“All primary schools in the region are eligible to apply,” ODJCA president Dave Cumming said, via a release.
“All project (applications) that increase participation assist in coaching, or generally promote cricket within the school will be considered.
“(They could include) purchase of kits and cricket gear, assistance in funding or enhancing facilities, cost associated with overcoming a barrier to participation, assistance with paying for school coaching … they are simply examples and not the limit of projects.”
Applicants will be required to identify the type of project for which they are applying and a school may apply for more than one project, and they can find nomination forms here.
Applications must be returned by September 21 to ODJCApresident.com.au, or via post to PO Box 1930, NSW, 2800.
