The minor premiership-winning Orange Physiotherapy Vipers and second-finishers Orange City Craig Harvey Mechanical both scored huge wins in Saturday’s last round of the regular season to pick up even more momentum leading into the post-season.
The Vipers took down the in-form OHS Hornets by 28 goals, winning 49-21, while Orange City CHM made light work of a trying Hawks DVM outfit, triumphing 74-35.
Orange City Newey’s Drive-Thru Cleaners continued their excellent form, picking up their sixth win on the trot to hang onto third spot.
In a confidence boost for the Lions, they did so by taking down the fourth-finishing Hawks Royals and doing so convincingly, 57-44.
The two sides meet again in the sudden-death minor semi-final, with the winner to progess to the preliminary final, where they’ll face the loser of Vipers and Orange City CHM’s first-versus-second clash.
In Saturday’s other final round clash the two Life Studio sides met in a season-ending club derby.
The club’s top side prevailed, downing the younger Mid West Eyes by 10 goals – 57-47 – to end their 2018 campaign on a positive.
The major and minor semi-finals will be played on Saturday at Sir Neville Howse Stadium, with times to be confirmed.
