After a successful three weeks, the City of Orange Eisteddfod has started its final phase with the impending conclusion of the dance program, and the vocal and instrumental sections under way.
Eisteddfod president Carol Smithers said the dance section, which started on August 12 and concludes on Monday, showcased the talents of performers from across the Central West and was a great success.
There 2300 individual entries for dance this year, with some entering 10 sections.
Along with dancers from across Orange and the Central West, there were also performers from Sydney, Dubbo and Canberra.
Mrs Smithers said there was a large schools day, while the groups weekend attracted 20 dance schools.
She said the adjudicator for the senior dancers was impressed, and was pleased to see a resurgence among tap dance, which had lower numbers in the last few years.
The eisteddfod’s vocal and instrumental section started on Sunday and will continue with events at the Orange Regional Conservatorium and Orange Function Centre until September 7.
