VIDEO: BuzzFeed’s visit to Orange ...
A weekend in Orange
The video prompting young Sydney residents to plan visits to restaurants and vineyards features Nashdale Lane Wines, Heifer Station Wines, De Salis Wines, Mr Lim, Groundstone Cafe, The Agrestic Grocer, Charred Kitchen and Bar, Factory Espresso, The Union Bank and The Grocer and Co Organics.
It comes just weeks after another publication popular with the cool crowd Pedestrain.tv sung Orange’s praises online with a similar response from its readership.
Tourism organisation, Orange360 invited Buzzfeed, and Pedestrain.tv, alongside Yahoo7 as part of its new initiative to sell the region to a younger market.
General Manager Caddie Marshall said Orange can offer them an experience they never thought they could get in regional NSW.
“These younger markets are adventurous, want brag-worthy experiences and have cash to spend,” she said.
Ms Marshall said her new team is taking a fresh approach to all-year-round tourism and will continue to invite and engage new and emerging markets, while also retaining existing visitors.
“Orange has been on the tourism map globally with our wineries and producers already exporting to countries like China, but we have attracted more attention globally with the launch of our first Orange Winter Fire Festival which definitely resonated with the Chinese market,” she said.
“They were able to enjoying our lifestyle and experience our authentic winter experience and they loved see our amazing clear starry skies.”
