The Ophir Hotel will take part in Let It Pour this weekend, donating all the proceeds from every Great Northern schooner, middy or pint to drought relief.
Tim Ireson said between himself and fellow owner’s Sean and Dan O’Hara they’d decided their regional pub was a good fit.
“We have a lot of working class regulars and tradie customers,” said Mr Ireson.
“Being from regional places we’re all connected, if the farmers are doing it tough, they’re not spending money in towns and everyone’s businesses suffer.”
Great Northern will provide 1000 kegs to venues across NSW, QLD and VIC as part of the Rotary administered fundraiser which will run across August 24-26.
