Rebecca Childs is co-ordinating the Fair Dinkum Farmer Fundraiser on behalf of Feed4Farmers and Pay It Forward for drought relief at Bletchington Public School from 10am-3pm.
“There’s over 100 farmers out there without water,” she said.
“They can’t have a shower, a bath or a wash. They are in desperate need.
“They are 100 per cent our backbone.”
And she’s not talking about farmers badly hit by the drought interstate or outside the Central West – these farm households who have run out of water are within 100 kilometres of Orange.
Entry to the fun day is through a gold coin donation.
Site fees paid by the stallholders, plus a share of the takings from some of them, will also go to drought relief.
They are 100 per cent our backbone.

“We’d love to raise $20,000 on the day,” Miss Childs said.
A key part of the fundraising will be a giant raffle which will be drawn on Sunday afternoon.
Prizes include vouchers for V8 hot laps of Sydney Motorsport Park, paintball and use of a houseboat on Wyangala Dam.
There will be plenty of entertainment for all ages with three jumping castles, face-painting, crazy hair and hair cuts and beauty stalls, plus appearances from Paw Patrol, Elliot the Rocking Dinosaur and Pooka the magician.
There will be about 27 market stalls and a fire truck, a police car, show cars and show bikes on display.
Miss Childs said the Feed4Farmers group, which has grown from just a few people into a community group to provide hay, water and supplies to farmers, was doing a great job.
“I see them working hard on the ground helping our Central West farmers out,” she said.
“They’re only new, they’ve only been operating for a month.”
