While the section of road from the Mountain Tea House to Old Canobolas Road remained open, the section from Old Canobolas Road to the summit is closed to traffic.
Council officials will make an inspection of the road on Tuesday morning to determine whether the roads can be reopened.
The closure comes despite a smaller amount of weekend snow than had been forecast.
The Bureau of Meteorology had predicted snow down to 600 metres in the Central West, which would have coated Orange (altitude 863 metres), but outside of a few flakes the only snow to be found in the district was on higher ground.
According to www.weatherzone.com.au’s seven-day forecast there is no more snow in store for Orange.
In fact, this coming week is likely to see milder conditions, with a predicted maximum temperature of 14 degrees on Friday the high point, and minimums of 4 degrees for Saturday and Sunday.
