A Holden Commodore and a Mitsubishi Lancer were seen side by side at the Anson Street traffic lights at about 11.35pm.
When the lights changed, they took off together, above the 50km/h speed limit until Hill Street when they split.
Officers spoke to the 20-year-old female Commodore driver and intend to speak to the Lancer driver.
Central West Police District Inspector Dave Harvey urged witnesses to contact police.
“Police have concerns for the safety of the public if this behaviour is allowed to continue,” he said.
Another female driver was arrested outside Orange Police Station for driving disqualified at 2.50am on Saturday.
Officers observed her Subaru Impreza and recognised her as a disqualified driver before pulling her over.
She was given a court attendance notice.
Meanwhile a shed fire in Park Street on Saturday night is not believed to be suspicious after it threatened neighbouring properties.
Orange Fire and Rescue and police attended the scene just after 9.30pm and fire crews extinguished the blaze.
The shed and a Volkswagon Amarok were damaged, but no one was home at the time.
The cause is still under investigation.
A break and enter was thwarted by a Wakeford Street home’s occupants on Sunday morning after an offender tried to break into a shed just before 5am.
The door was forced open, but the offender fled when they heard noise from the house and did not steal anything.
