An initiative of Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child sees shoeboxes of educational resources, personal and craft items, clothing, toys and musical instruments packed into shoeboxes to be shipped off to the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia.
Robyn Hicks said for 20 years volunteers have gotten together once a month to pack the care packages so that they are ready for the children on December 25.
After a busy effort on Friday, the working bee was to continue with Mrs Hicks putting the call out to volunteers to contact her if they could join them packing boxes at the centre between 10am to 4pm on Saturday.
