Everyone by now is fully aware of the drought, which will not only hurt our farmers but will also push the price of meat up.

Cattle and sheep farmers are not the only ones finding it tough. Finding enough grain to feed chickens has also become problematic.

We see some great people, generous truckies and companies who help transport hay. We see people like Peter who generously donate hay.

I live in the Central West and I can see the damage caused by the drought, but I'm not a farmer.

Trucks are coming from all over with hay, including WA to feed dying animals.

What if, when these trucks return to Victoria or WA, they take back a few cows and a couple of bulls, particularly prize stud cattle?

And what if we could find some generous farmers, like Peter, who are willing to put these animals up for agistment for free?

That way these farmers may have a small start – kind of like a Noah’s Arc – when the drought breaks.

It will also give them a little hope.
