Firstly, after their Thunder Conference Orange Pool campaign was completely washed out last year it’s moving to Bathurst this summer and, secondly, the Wranglers will be pitted against a new side in Illawarra.
Last year the Wranglers were set to face the Orana Outlas, South Coast Crew and ACT Aces before the heavens opened and waterlogged Orange’s fields but this year the latter side has been replaced with the Flames.
The Aces will instead compete in the Thunder Conference Wagga Wagga pool, while the flames have actually been moved from the northern Sixers Conference, where they were last summer.
That move was made to accommodate a new side, the Lake Mac Attack, that slots into the Sixers Conference Newcastle Pool. They replace the South Riverina Vipers, with the Illawarra Flames moving into that slot in the southern division.
The Wranglers will face the Outlaws first up on October 20, before playing the Crew and Flames on October 21. The pool will use Bathurst Sportsground and George Park 1 as venues, with the winner to move onto the semi-finals as per last season.
