The Kinross Wolaroi School star helped her NSW side, which also included Molong Central School’s Heidi Townsend, to the gold medal at the Gold Coast, and was named in the All Australian team as a result.
Mannix and Townsend’s NSW side was forced to shrug off a slow start to the tournament too.
They were comfortably beaten by Queensland in their first game, losing 4-1, but went through the rest of the competition undefeated and earned redemption in the decider.
After wins over Tasmania (2-nil), South Australia (11-nil), ACT (6-1), Victoria (1-nil) and Western Australia (3-nil) NSW, coached by CYMS’ former Hockeyroo Jade Georgiou, took down Queensland in the gold medal game, prevailing in a sudden-death shootout.
