The school hopes to reach $13,000 this year to make a monetary donation and purchase books, pencils, audio equipment and other resources for its twinning school in Mannar, Sri Lanka.

The group, which is made up of 15 year 11 students and four staff, will travel to the school in October to teach the pupils and pass on strategy and skills to the teachers.
Pupil Grace Bright said it will be her second time to travel overseas and the excitement overshadows the nerves.
“I’m looking forward to immersing myself in a different culture,” she said.
“I feel like we’ll come back here with a greater appreciation for what we have.”
