With Angullong Wines’ long lunch in Panuara a sell out in just hours, Mrs Crossing said she thinks people are attracted to vineyard experiences because they’re unique.
“People have an opportunity to meet the family,” she said.
“We welcome them into our homes.”
Strawhouse Wines Owner Justin Byrne said since the first Orange Wine Show, the festival has gone from strength to strength, which he puts down, in part, to the way local wine growers support one another.
“In wine terms we’re a very young region when compared to many places in Europe,” he said.
“We’re still growing and we’re growing together.”
Come October, Mr Byrne will work closely with his neighbours on Boree Lane to give guests an afternoon wander through his property as well as Stockmans Ridge, Boree Lane Wines and Carillion Vineyard while they sample the goods.
This year, Orange Wine Festival will take place from October 12 to 21. Program online.
