Our ladies are very keen to play in this one because in previous years this section has always been full, so luckily this year we have managed to secure a spot.
The weather looks good so here’s to a great weekend of tennis and socializing.
It was a rather coolish five degrees when players arrived to play in the Winter Warmers Competition on Wednesday night but once on the court and after a few hits, they soon embraced our winter conditions and concentrated on their matches.
The winners from last week were the pairing of Sam Radojicic and Nick Powell with three sets/16 games, runners up were Rod Buesnel and Aleks Radojicic on two sets/14 games and in third place were Andy Cannon and Elizabeth Grady with one set/13 games.
We are now in term three and the Turn Up Tuesday Junior Comp is becoming more and more popular each week. It runs from 4-5.30 every Tuesday and the kids are having a great time.
The overall winner of the medal this week was Tom Vickery on 23 games on a countback with Kaydyn McLachlan and closely followed in third place was Stephanie Gersbach on 21 games, with Xavier Bland rounding out the top four.
Jackson Gersbach played consistently, while Will from Molong was the most improved.
We will be starting to come out of the winter months soon so therefore the calendar is filling up.
Dates to jot down are our annual Club Championships on Sundays, September 2, 9 and 23 along with the major event of the year, that being our Seniors Tournament on the weekend of Septemer 15 and 16.
Those two events alone have filled the month. Entries are now open for both of these.
The Ladies Social every Thursday at 9am and the Mixed Social every Sunday at 1.30pm continue and all players are very welcome to come along and join in. Wayne Scott will be on duty this Sunday.
