To raise awareness, Fusion Australia will host Sleep In Your Car at the Fusion Community Centre and Uniting Church Hall on August 11.
Participants are encouraged to fundraise to support the work Veritas House and Fusion do to house young people, ahead of a group dinner and sleep out.
Fusion’s Beverley Rankin said homelessness is something of an unseen problem in Orange, with many people forced to “couchsurf” which puts them at risk.
Held during Homelessness Week which runs August 6-12, the Anson Street event is part of a nation-wide campaign to create a conversation around homelessness.
