The 2018 Education Week theme, “Today’s schools – creating tomorrow’s worlds” is a great opportunity for the everyone at the school to show how they building towards the future, especially through the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Secretary of the Department of Education, Mark Scott, said the theme for this year’s Education Week focused on the future. “Our schools are very future-focused, preparing and equipping young people with the skills, the knowledge and the capabilities they need to lead and flourish in tomorrow’s world,” he said.
Spring Terrace School strongly believes in giving their students the skills and knowledge to thrive in an ever changing world. Students receive all the benefits of being part of a supportive community where education is planned and adapted for every child’s needs.
Education week activities will begin on Tuesday, July 31 with pre-school students and their parents invited into the classrooms to meet the staff and fellow students, and get a taste of the “big school” which awaits them.

This will be a fantastic opportunity for parents and students starting school in 2019 or 2020, to come in and see a small school in action.
Thursday, August 2 will be a community day, and will see the students competing in the Small School’s section of the Orange Eisteddfod. The performance will followed by a picnic lunch, open classrooms and assembly.

On Friday, August 3 parents are invited in to see Spring Terrace’s STEM program in action. Students will be working with robotics and taking part in critical thinking and problem solving challenges.
All parents, friends and family are encouraged to come along to some or all of Spring Terrace’s Education Week events, and help to celebrate with our school community.
Sprint Terrace School has also invited any prospective students and their parents to come in, become engaged with the staff and see what the school has to offer.
