I WRITE to express my agreement with Orange City councillor Glenn Taylor's desire for a wood bank in Orange to keep people warm.

However I strongly disagree with his comments about the massacre of the trees at Pinnacle Reserve being an act of desperation.

In my experience people who can not afford to buy wood do not have trucks, trailers or chainsaws either.

They often don't even have a car and are usually elderly or infirm.

The trees would have been cut down by somebody selling wood, or at least in a position to do so.

Regards,

Yvonne Artery
