“It’s like three legs of a stool, high tea, handcut flowers and gourmet food,” Mrs Davy said.
Heidi’s Flower Field will offer coffee and food, will sell flowers and offer silver-service high teas, all in a unique building they have just finished renovating.
“We were looking closer to the very CBD of our town but then this beautiful building came up,” she said.
“We want to preserve this iconic building in Orange, I want a place where people were home.”
She said the floral business was strong with sales and wedding bookings.
“We’re just flat out, the bookings are coming in thick and fast,” she said.
The high-tea service costs $55 per person and needs to be pre-booked.
She said there was room for 20-25 people.
Mrs Davy said the high tea had sandwiches, scones, tarts and even edible flowers with tea, coffee and non-alcoholic champagne.
NASHDALE LANE WINES CELLAR DOOR OPENS
Take one 65-year-old apple packing shed. Add a couple with a vision for an Orange district vineyard.
And complete it with a glamping experience that places guests in the middle of a block of shiraz grapes.
Nashdale Lane Wines is owned by Nick Segger and wife Tanya Ryan Segger who bought the 24 hectare property about 18 months ago and have just opened a cellar door.
“It was an old packing shed that was on the property,” she said.
“It was in a perfect site for a cellar door, we want it to be a cosy, warm and stylish space.”
The cellar door will add to their on-site accommodation which opened in January.
“It’s your Rolls Royce of glamping,” she said.
The tents feature hardwood flooring, four-poster beds and a kitchen.
HEALTHY WIN FOR TEAM AT MACQUARIE MEDI SPA
It’s a long way to Northern Ireland from Orange for an award ceremony but when you clean up it’s worthwhile.
Macquarie Medi Spa Orange owner Karla McDiarmid has just been named the global winner of Spa Manager of the Year while the Byng Street business has been named the winner of the Luxury Boutique Spa Australasia award.
She said she was thrilled to win at the 2018 World Luxury Spa Awards.
“Absolutely incredible, this award is the best to receive as it’s judged by a private panel and the feedback I received was everybody knows Karla and what she does for her business and community,” she said.
