Accompanying the gift was a note its author had felt compelled to write to apologise for speeding past the property months earlier and splashing mud on the man’s cars and lawn.
“Mate this would’ve p***** me off,” wrote the driver.
“I wanted to leave a six pack of beer to pardon my actions.”
Far from being upset by any unexplained dust on his cars months earlier, the happy homeowner had no idea who’d written the note or what incident it referred to.
Needless to say he was happy to accept the generous gift from his good Samaritan neighbour anyway.
