The Pete Shea-coached Orange side was locked in a three-way battle for top spot with Bathurst St Pat’s and Bathurst City prior to last weekend, but was the only one of the three sides that didn’t claim points on Saturday.
Emily Thompson scored what proved to be the decisive goal for Panthers on Saturday afternoon, helping her side reverse the result from its last encounter against CYMS in round one, the green and golds won that game 4-nil at Lithgow.
The victory also helped Panthers jump ahead of the green and golds, the perennial contenders now sit second, although there’s little separating any of the top four.
St Pat’s are two points clear of Panthers and Bathurst City, with CYMS another two points further back.
