Spiritual healing is the reason Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is getting behind Christmas in July next weekend at the Orange Function Centre.

A full Christmas dinner, with meat and roast veggies, will be on off for free on July 21 from 5pm to 9pm, with Christian organisation Tent For Hope providing entertainment including a jumping castle and mechanical bull.
There will also be a choir singing Christmas carols to help everyone get into the festive spirit.
OAMS director Jamie Newman said it was part of filling the organisation’s mandate of fulfilling spiritual and cultural care for the community by bringing people together, and Mr Newman was inspired by the work Tent Of Hope did in February with a pop-up service.
OAMS has supported Tent For Hope by hiring the function centre and purchasing a lot of the goods needed for the evening.
“We have a focus on spirituality as an organisation and supporting people, and I believe the Tent of Hope brings that filling of a gap that means we can connect at all levels,” Mr Newman said.
