The Department of Primary Industries (DPI), NSW Farmers Association and New South Wales Police Force will join forces to combat illegal hunting through the use of an online survey.

The survey, which is expected to take between five and 10 minutes, is designed for farmers and property owners to give authorities an indication as to where illegal hunting is taking place.
NSW Police rural crime coordinator Cameron Whiteside says the survey is the beginning of a strengthening bond between organisations.
“We’re really pleased to work with the Game Licensing Unit and New South Wales farmers – this is just part of that relationship,” Detective Inspector Whiteside said.
This information will be able to put police and inspectors in the right place.

“Historically we’ve addressed illegal hunting and trespassing with intelligence but coupled with our intelligence analysts and this information will be able to put police and inspectors in the right place.
“We’ve already seen the relationship working in the last few months with seizing motor vehicles and having a great impact in this area and that’s due to our relationship with the Game Licensing Unit.
“We’re pretty excited about the survey. It touches a few things that a very important to us so we can channel our resources to the right place.”
The survey will be online in the coming weeks.
