According to www.weatherzone.com.au and the Bureau of Meteorology, snow is “possible above 1000 metres” in the Orange area.
With Orange’s altitude at 863 metres it’s unlikely any snow will fall in the city, but at almost 1400 metres the summit of Mount Canobolas, along with its higher slopes, is in with a good chance of a heavy fall.
Thursday’s forecast is also predicting “the chance of a thunderstorm with small hail”.
The forecast for the remainder of the week will follow a pattern of chilly mornings – there are minimum temperatures of down to -5 degrees on the weekend – and cool but dry days.
