A shoplifter who was caught stealing a one litre carton of milk, a carton of eggs and a 1.8kg pack of barbecue sausages worth a total of $14.60 did not appear in Orange Local Court on Monday.

In his absence, Wayne John Fitzgerald, 57, of Waratah Avenue, was fined $330 for the June 15 larceny.
He was seen putting the items into a bag and walking out of an Orange supermarket without paying at 10.40am.
He had been charged on 84 previous occasions for theft offences.
Fitzgerald was also fined $1650 and had his driver’s licence disqualified for 12 months for driving while he was disqualified.
He was detected by a police number plate recognition program on May 5.
