MEMORY LANE: The Department of Agriculture, later named the Department of Primary Industries, moved to Kite Street Orange in 1992.

When then Minister for Agriculture Ian Armstrong relocated his department to Orange in 1992 it was seen as a victory for decentralisation.

But 1992 also meant victory, and disappointment, for a whole lot of other reasons.

The Brisbane Broncos won their first premiership, beating St George 28-8, and taking the premiership to Queensland for the first time.

It was also the year of the interstate winner in the AFL as the West Coast Eagles won their first premiership.

While locally, Cowra grabbed the Group 10 rugby league title.

And this year the world celebrated Prince Harry getting married, but back in 1992 his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, announced their separation.
