Cabonne officials decided to close the roads on Saturday ahead of the forecast weekend snow.
According to their statement on Monday, “snow and ice” towards the mountain’s summit have made the roads too dangerous for vehicles.
POLL: Have your say …
“Council will continue to inspect the roads [to] determine whether they can be reopened,” the statement read.
“Council’s priority is the safety of all road users. It will endeavour to open the roads should conditions allow it.”
Motorists are reminded it is an offence to drive past a road-closed sign.
