But there were entertaining indoor options for Orange’s families on Sunday, and plenty of people who opted to head to the movies at Odeon 5 Cinema, have a roll at Orange Tenpin Bowl, or listen to a story or two at The Greenhouse Academy.

- PCYC HOLIDAY PROGRAM: 8.30am-5.30pm, Monday, July 9 to Friday, July 13, and Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 20. A variety of supervised activities including gymnastics, ninja warrior-style course, fort building, sports, movies, dancing and gymnastics. For children in kindergarten to year 6. SHAKING IT: Hula hoop competitions will be just one part of the sports days at Glenroi and Margaret Stevenson ovals.
- SPORT DAYS: 2pm-4pm, Tuesday, July 10 at Glenroi Oval, and 11am to 1pm, Thursday, July 12 at Margaret Stevenson Oval. Country Rugby League will hold community sports events, including roll-a-ball, bocce, jenga, races, hula hoop competitions and a barbecue.
- BUGS IN THE GARDEN: Tuesday, July 10, Thursday, July 12, Tuesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 19. Horticulturalist Phil will be showing children around the gardens at The Greenhouse, introducing them to the good and bad bugs, as well as harvesting seeds, doing bug-inspired craft and preparing their own fruit with a chef.
