The Korean Water Society president spoke to farmers and doctors at the ELF on Friday about how plasma sterilisation water could be used in place of sulfur-based insecticides.

Professor Kyu-Jae Lee, who is also the Department of Environmental Medical Biology head professor at Yonsei University’s Wonju college of Medicine, was the lead speaker among a group of medical, agricultural and scientific experts.
The water has already been approved by the Korean and Chinese governments and is also used in Japan and parts of Europe.
Professor Lee said it’s been in use in Korea for at least 20 years.
The visit to Orange gave the Korean experts an opportunity to see the Australian landscape, learn about government approval processes and guidelines and the suitability of Australian agriculture.
Professor Lee said through treatment, the chemical composition of the water is altered to become hydrochloric water and it can be used for fungus, virus and bacterial removal and is 80 per cent more potent than bleach.
He said it’s used for medical purposes such as cleaning wounds, in swimming pools instead of chlorine and replaces pesticides in farming as well as cleaning vegetables in homes.
The presentation enabled attendees to learn more about the water, how it is altered and how it is used.
