Visitors to the Yeoval Central School table were able to see the robots the students built themselves, while hearing about the technology made available to them through a department of education program.
Year 7 student Carleigh Baker said it was fun showing their work.
“It’s been really fun talking about what we’ve been creating over the past term,” she said.
Manning the table in the sports hall at James Sheahan Catholic High School, Caleigh was one of the 11 students who talked about the $10,000 worth of technology the NSW Department of Education’s STEM initiative had given them access to.
The STEM Share Kit made available to regional schools this year consisted of state of the art technology which included Dashbots, Lego Wedos, Ozobots and Microbits.
Visitors to the technology expo had the chance to see these robots in action on Friday, with visitors to Saturday and Sunday’s show hearing from experts on a diverse range of topics such as social media and data security at Orange Function Centre.
