There is no shortage of bad parking in Orange and it’s annoying to find a space only to discover a car has crossed the line meaning you have to either drive on and keep looking or park and get out of the car very carefully.
There’s also the risk that the other car will move first and if you’re crooked as a result of their parking you’ll look like the fool.
In Monday’s case, magistrate David Day said the offending vehicle was a large van in a tight space under the Central Square Shopping Centre .
He said the back left tyre was on the line, just over, and the mudflap had gone across the line.
“When you consider the size of the vehicle, it’s trifling,” Mr Day said.
“Having regard to the size of the vehicle it’s a very small, very technical offence.”
He gave the van’s driver a good behviour bond without conviction for the parking violation.
