Leah Joyce Howarth, 32, of Summer Street, assaulted the police officer in Bourke where she was living at the time on December 14.
A police report said Howarth was initially seen at 1.10am walking down a street by police who were patrolling the area and she yelled out to the police to “go and catch them drug dealers”.
They saw her again at 1.20am and she stepped into the path of the police car, which braked in time.
She was speaking to a police officer through the open window when she hit him. When she moved towards him a second time he sprayed her with capsicum spray.
Solicitor John Song said she has attended rehabilitation but had been drinking at the time of the assault.
“She knows the police were doing their job, however she did feel targeted to a degree,” he said.
