On Monday tree surgeon Brock Lorraway threw on his harness and made his way – chainsaw in hand – to the top of one of Cook Park’s large plane trees to remove some dead wood.
An Orange City Council statement said the work was “part of regular maintenance” and the “crew also took the opportunity to remove a large branch that was shading the rose garden”.
A couple of blocks east, a couple of brave souls were hitting even greater heights, using a massive crane to change out the lights atop the towers at Wade Park.
