The 15-year-old’s hard work and persistence paid off last Saturday when he landed a monstrous Murray Cod on a stretch of the Lachlan River near Bedgerabong.
The female fish measured 110 centimetres in length and weighed about 41 kilograms.
The enthusiastic young angler used an assassin spinner bait to reel in the fish, which he later released.
