Duncan Young, who has pulled on jerseys for Orange City, Cargo Blue Heelers and Orange Hawks in recent years, was plucked randomly from the ANZ Stadium crowd at half time to attempt a kick at goal for a year’s supply of Wicked Sister desserts.
Mr Young was well equipped for the task, having spent many winters kicking conversions and penalties for his sides at Pride Park and Cargo Oval.
The former James Sheahan Catholic High School student was offered three attempts but needed just one as he steered the Steeden through the posts from 25 metres out to the delight of the 21,376-strong crowd.
For those interested, the Dragons defeated the Bulldogs 18-16.
