On the Saturday in round one, the Ex-Services team of Chrissie Kjoller, Sue Vaughan, Janet Davenport and Lindy Crossley trounced an ACT team 36 games to 12 and six sets to nil.

In the afternoon’s round two, we had to fight hard against a strong Forbes team where the end result was a very close three sets all but on a count back of games, we were lucky enough to just win by four games, 26 to 22.

On the Sunday’s round three, we came up against another strong and consistent second ACT team, in a match that could’ve ended in a draw of 4 sets apiece but we held ourselves together and came out on top with a five sets to three and 54 games to 29 victory.

After the combined scores were added over the entire weekend, our ladies team was declared the winners with a total of 14 sets and 116 games.

It was a fantastic two days of great tennis and socialising and we are now looking forward to the next tournament in Cowra at the end of the month.

Another JDS Tournament was held up in Dubbo last Sunday and once again our juniors came home plenty of with trophies and placings.

The winners were Nathan Seib – 18 year boys singles, Caitlyn Speirs – 18 year girls singles, Jarryd Seib – 14 year boys singles, Kayden McLachlan – 10 year boys singles semi finalist and Ella McColl – third place in the 10 year girls singles.

Well done to all.

There is plenty more tennis coming up for our Juniors, Nathan and Jarryd Seib, Tom Lloyd and McKenzie Smith, in the near future, with the O.H.S. Gosford High visit, followed by the much anticipated Astley Cup.

The boys and girls have also made it to the Semi Finals of the C.H.S. State Schools knockout to be played at Parkes later this month.

Clubs’ Coach, Darren Gersbach has started up a ‘Turn up Tuesday’ round robin for any junior who wishes to come along, runing from 4-5.30pm and to be eligible, players need to be able to serve.

Please phone Darren on 0407 912 204 if your child is interested.

Ladies Social is held every Thursday from 9am and Mixed Social is every Sunday from 1.30pm. Committee lady, Kathy Penrose will be on duty to organise the sets this Sunday. All welcome.
