After spending 20 years in the corporate accounting world, Mrs Pratt and her young family made the move from Brisbane to Mudgee in search of a quieter lifestyle.
She soon realised it was also time for a change in career direction and decided to explore her love for animals by studying a Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing course after realising “being a stay at home mum wasn’t for me”.
“I’m able to balance family time and work, it really suits my lifestyle,” Mrs Pratt said.
“Being in the company of animals brings me great joy and it is very fulfilling to play a role in their care.”
TAFE NSW Animal Studies teacher Bronwyn Bellamy said Mrs Pratt was a focused student who completed her work tasks to a high standard.
“Her new career path means so much to her,” she said.
“This is a perfect example of students coming to TAFE NSW to relaunch their career and be in a job they love by studying when it suits them.”
