The trade exhibition for the wine and spirits industry in the Asia-Pacific region is now in its 20th year, and this year named Australia as the Country of Honour.
This means Australian wineries, including representatives from the Orange region, will be catapulted onto the world stage and showcased to over 17,000 people from 51 Countries who attend Vinexpo each year.
Angullong Wines, See Saw Wines, Ross Hill Wines, Philip Shaw Wines, Rowlee Wines, Stockman’s Ridge, Gordon Hills Estate and Printhie Wines will be representing Orange, sharing their products and hoping to crack the Asian market.
President of the Orange Region Vignerons Association Justin Jarrett said “this is a great opportunity for Orange to really showcase our premium cool climate wines”.
“With the help of the NSW Government and Wine Australia, attending these types of events are the first step to launching Orange on a world stage,” he said.
“Although Orange is still considered a young and emerging region, there is great international interest in new and exciting regions.”
Minister for Trade and Industry Niall Blair said the NSW Government is committed to helping develop a strong, profitable and growing wine industry.
“NSW regional wines are among some of the best in the world and this event provides a fantastic opportunity to put wines on the global stage,” Mr Blair said.
“This is one of the most influential wine trade fairs in the Asia Pacific, showcasing every variety of wine to almost 20,000 visitors from more than 50 countries.
“It’s a great opportunity for our wine industry to build on a bumper year with Australian wine exports up 15 per cent in the last year to $2.56 billion."
According to Orange Region Tourism a recent report released by Wine Australia shows that China is Australia’s number one wine export market.
Vinexpo is held from May 29 to 31 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
After Vinexpo some of the Orange group will continue onto China for a week-long Roadshow to four major cities.
