Jacob Aaron Quick, 33, of Orchard Grove Road, represented himself, pleading guilty to low-range PCA.
Police said they were patrolling Long Point Road just after 11pm when they saw a white Mitsubishi Triton travelling west.
Pulling the utility over, police asked if the driver had consumed any alcohol and Quick replied, “I’m going to blow over”, registering a reading of 0.07.
Magistrate David Day asked Quick why he had been driving and was told he had left a farm to avoid an altercation.
“It’s still no excuse for driving,” Quick said.
Mr Day fined him $330 and disqualified him for three months.
