Home and Community Care fund most of the bus hire and fuel, and the bus is driven by volunteers.
Clients contribute a small amount toward bus costs and pool entry at Fitness Perfection, and are asked to provide their own lunch.
“This outing is great for people with arthritis who want to get their joints and muscles moving, but find that exercise on land is very difficult,” Canowindra nurse Cheryl Page said.
Canowindra Primary and Community Health Manager and Physiotherapist Ashley Wright encouraged more people to use the hydrotherapy service.
“Exercises in warm water is one of the most beneficial activities for people over 50, so we would love to see new clients talking advantage of this great service,” Mrs Wright said.
“We can’t run the classes without enough people, so if this sounds like something you might benefit from, come along and give it a go.
“The service can help people manage chronic health problems and helps clients stay healthy as they age.”
The bus leaves Canowindra Health Service at 10am and is usually back around 2pm.
