The hotel said the latest Star Ratings Australia classification had lifted it to the position of now being the highest-rated accommodation property in Orange.
Mercure Orange manager Peter Obermayer said each of the hotel’s 77 bedrooms have been refitted with new joinery, interactive guest services including being able to order room service via the TV and king-sized beds.
Mr Obermayer said an extra touch has been adding historic photographs of Orange to room walls.
“Even in this digital age, the Star Ratings were a well-known symbol of quality,” he said.
“Research in recent years shows visitors to Orange come with high expectations, wanting to taste award-winning wines and the high-class food produced in this region, as well as stay in premium accommodation.”
The hotel is located within the Orange Ex-Services’ Club.
A Star Ratings Australia spokeswoman said the Quality Inn Ambassador Orange had retained its four-star rating under the latest review.
