Or maybe that should be EVERY facet of modern-day life, if the scenes at Wade Park on the weekend are any indication.
There was a healthy crowd at Sunday’s Group 10 local derby between Orange Hawks and Orange CYMS, and they were entertained by the on-field action in more ways than the obvious.
One of CYMS’ ball boys, who all worked tirelessly fetching balls and delivering kicking tees throughout the day, was aided by the use of a segway, a two-wheeled, handle-less transporter.
He proved much more nimble than his foot-bound contemporaries, effortlessly gliding through errand after errand.
It undoubtedly brought an envious tear to the eyes of generations of ball boys past in the grandstand, who remember running until they dropped at footy games in years gone by.
