Purple isn’t a colour you normally expect to see when approaching Bunnings Warehouse, but on Saturday the sausage sizzle tent was decked out in purple in support of World Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Day.

Cassandra Anslow was one of the organisers of the sausage sizzle, and has also been involved with Crohn’s and Colitis Australia’s High Tea for IBD.
Both Crohn’s and Colitis are bowel diseases which impact about 85,000 Australians, and being bowel diseases can often face plenty of stigma.
One of the barbeque’s organisers Cassandra Anslow said the support on Saturday has been “fabulous”.
“People have put in their change, brought ribbons, just to support us,” she said.
Mrs Anslow said plenty of people had asked about the diseases, and she was pleased to give more awareness.
“A lot of people have asked what Crohn’s and Colitis is and we’ve answered lots of questions and we wondered if people would ask and they have which is good,” she said.
