Coming into the clash after an 11-1 loss to Lithgow Panthers and then a bye, Wanderers led for two small periods during the first half at Orange Hockey Centre on Saturday but couldn’t hang on, in the end Zig Zag scored three unanswered goals to win 4-2.
After back-and-forth opening stages Bailey Ferguson found the back of the net in the 18th minutes to give the hosts a 1-0 lead, but that lasted just one minute as Luke Sheppeard equalised for Zig Zag.
Wanderers skipper Adam Skelton pushed his side back into the lead in the 24th minute but again, Zig Zag hit back straight away, this time through Eli Shirt.
The clash remained 2-2 until after the break, until Ben Redding laced one past Wanderers goalkeeper Jacob Skelton at the 38-minute mark.
Zac Sharp found the back of the net six minutes later to give the visitors a 4-2 lead.
