Fire and Rescue crews responded to the blaze at about 2.45pm, which was in an un-owned block of grass behind several Autumn Street and Icely Road houses.
Fire and Rescue NSW retained firefighter Donald Darren said the blaze didn’t extend more than 10 metres by 10 metres, and nearby residents assisted with hoses to help douse the small blaze.
“There was more smoke than fire,” he said, with the rare green grass causing a decent amount of smoke for a small blaze.
The track between the creek and a house onto the grassy area was too narrow for the truck, requiring a second tanker to be called out.
No properties were damaged in the fire.
