Orange Fire Station will hold an open day on Saturday, where visitors will get a glimpse of life inside one of the Central West’s busiest stations.

There will also be the chance to hop on a fire truck and chat with firefighters to learn more about what they do.
Station officer Rod Kinder encouraged families to drop in for demonstrations and a barbecue.
“Open day is about passing on information to people to encourage them to be proactive,” he said.
“Coming in to winter we get a lot of call outs because of heaters and electric blankets and we want to remind people to take precautions.”
The doors will be open 10am-2pm, with tools on display and a fire safety demonstration taking place.
The Cancer Council will host a Biggest Morning Tea event at the station during that time.
“Come in and make a donation, have a cup of tea and pick up a showbag for the kids,” Mr Kinder said.
