The day is an initiative of the Australian Historic Motoring Federation – the national body representing motoring groups – and is always the third Sunday in May.

The objective of the event is to get as many classic, vintage and veteran vehicles out at the same time throughout Australia to highlight to government that the restoration and hobby vehicle movement is a significant force in the community.

Gnoo Blas president Denis Gregory said the club plans a short run starting from the railway station car park at 9.30am to Spring Hill, Millthorpe and across to Lucknow where the cars will go on show for about half an hour.

They will then return to go on show in Robertson Park from about 11am to 1pm.

People who are not members of the Gnoo Blas club but have classic or veteran cars or motorcycles are invited to join the run.

More than 200,000 vehicles will be on the road throughout Australia representing more than 900 clubs.

“We like to do our part promoting these vehicles and the history of motoring and there’s no better way than to get out and show them off,” Mr Gregory said.

“And we have some great cars of all makes that people can see on Sunday.”
