Where do you work and how long have you been there? Orange Civic Theatre for the past 23 years.
Job description: Senior theatre technician, which involves operating sound and lighting, set construction, fly operation and anything else needed to make a show.
I live with: My partner Wendy, my stepson Max, two dogs and two cats.
How long have you lived in Orange? Since 1993.
Hobbies: I have been known to pick up a guitar on rare occasion.
What did you want to be when you were little? I wanted to be a puppeteer when I was seven.
What training have you done? Some of the work involves high risk similar to the construction industry, so relevant qualifications are required, such as rigging, and working at heights. Others involve just learning as you go and years of experience.
Why did you choose this job? There's always something different rolling through that door from week to week.
What is the best thing about your job? Working with talented people to make those magic 'wow' moments happen on stage and when something breaks down minutes before the curtain rises and you have to MacGyver something together.
What is the worst thing about your job? Loading a truck at 2am in July and it's snowing. And divas, they are rare, but they happen.
What advice would you give someone interested in your job? There is no such thing as a stupid question and stay safe.
